The Sidekick Booklet Label has a booklet or pamphlet that is only a part of the over all size of the label. In the Sunterra example above, the overall label size east-west is 4.5". After taking out the (2) .25" wings, you are left with a 4" label. The 4" is divided into 1.75" of base label and 2.25" of booklet. Simply put, the base label has extended beyond the booklet by 1.75" minus the wings.
What is the significance of this? If you look at the picture above, it's a very attractive construction. (1) Using a film label with a gorgeous design makes this label system pop. Look how we have matched the booklet to the base material. It's not easy to do when you are using two different printing methods. (2) The booklet on the side makes it interesting and gives the package depth. There's multiple levels to catch the customer's eye. (3) This construction is another way to handle curves. Since the booklet takes up a much smaller section of the curve, it is less effected by it meaning that it won't have the bunching and other problems you see when trying to apply traditional booklet labels to curves. (4) With the booklet being plain, the label design is emphasized.
With all that said, it's really about personal taste and preference. Some customer's just love the way the Sidekick looks on their products.
