I am sure all converters have their favorite converting materials. Mine is S246 adhesive on a 60# semi-gloss paper with a 40# SCK liner. This is one of Fasson's long time great combinations. S246 has tremendous initial grab. Once you put it on, it isn't coming off. We use it widely for all types of substrates including boxes, bags and HDPE containers. It prints and die cuts well. It's very stable and doesn't have a lot of issues running through the press. Our customers love it. It works well for medical applications too. I enjoy making booklet labels with this great material as the base web. Below are the specs:
Fasson® 60# Semi-Gloss EliteTM is a bright, blue-white, 60# C1S, super calendered paper. It is designed to bridge the gap between low- and high-end process printing, up to 175 line screen. This sheet prints well with water-based Flexo, UV Flexo, and UV Letterpress inks. It has improved smoothness while maintaining strength for good converting and dispensing.
